August 13 - 17:  Songwriting Camp

9am - 3pm

Instructor: Lexi Close

Spend August 13 - 17 at Trez Music Songwriting Camp!  During this holistic workshop instructor Lexi Close will lead students through all aspects of songwriting from creating a structure and a melody to writing thoughtful lyrics.  We will explore the importance of dynamics and emotion as well as tempo and arrangement.  Students will explore co-writing in addition to receiving one-on-one critiques in this welcoming environment.  Daily exercises will include vocal warm-ups, a variety of exercises to inspire creativity, smash writer's block, and of course, there will be plenty of time for writing!  The week will conclude with a performance of the works created during the camp.  Instrumentalists, top liners, and lyricists can all benefit from this highly interactive program.  Whether you're an experienced songwriter, or if you'd like to write your first song, this is the place for you!

Also, each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.  Lunch is not included so students can pack a lunch each day or (with parental permission) purchase lunch at any of the eateries in town.
